When I was pregnant with my second son, something in me shifted.
Like many moms, I went into full nesting mode. But instead of just washing baby clothes and organizing drawers, I found myself on a mission to declutter every inch of my home. I wanted simplicity. I wanted an easy home to maintain. I wanted a less stressful home.
But what started as a decluttering journey slowly turned into something much deeper. I was finding it hard to properly dispose of cleaning solutions and chemicals that were under my sink and in my laundry room.
And that’s when the nerd and scientist inside of me took over.
A Little About Me (And Why I Care So Much About Protecting Families)
I have a Bachelor’s in Biology and a Master’s in Regulatory Affairs from Johns Hopkins University, and I have over 10 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry.
My job is all about taking complex scientific and regulatory information—stuff that’s written for lawyers or compliance officers—and turning it into simple, digestible training for the people who actually make the medicines. I help everyday teams understand what’s safe, what’s risky, and how to follow the rules to protect lives.
And now? I’m using those same skills to help moms protect their families.
Why I Switched From Clutter to Chemicals
The more I learned about hidden household toxins, the more shocked I became.
I found out about:
- PFAS (a.k.a. “forever chemicals”) in water-resistant baby clothes and car seats
- Fragrance loopholes in baby lotions and laundry detergents
- Flame retardants in crib mattresses
- Phthalates and BPA in plastic toys and food containers
These aren’t just buzzwords. These are chemicals backed by decades of research, linked to hormonal disruption, respiratory issues, reproductive problems, and even cancer. And they’re in products marketed to moms. That felt like betrayal. And I knew I couldn’t unsee it.
My Mission Now
I’m not here to scare you. I’m here to empower you.
Because the truth is:
- You don’t have to toss everything you own.
- You can protect your babies without losing your mind.
- You don’t need a PhD to understand this stuff (I’ll do that part for you).
I’ve made it my mission to simplify the science and make it easy for busy moms to make safer choices—without the guilt, overwhelm, or $1,000 shopping lists.
Actions You Can Do Today To Make Your Home Less Toxic
- Start to declutter your home because clutter collects dust, and dust contains pollutants and toxins.
- Vacuum and wet the dust to remove it.
- Open your windows. I like to open them when it’s raining. Just be cautious
- Don’t stress. Stressing about toxins will not help you and your family.
